‘The Late Show Theme’ on the official website

The brand new and exclusive official music video for ‘The Late Show Theme’ is now available at cbs.com/lateshow. This new version of the famous theme tune is more punchy and the video looks great. Paul Shaffer described this new version as “the full-length theme song with a jazzy sax solo, then a guitar babble at the end” in the recent Late Show newsletter. They used green screen for most of it and had New York scenes on it behind them. The video was produced exclusively for the web so you won’t see it on TV.

Paul Shaffer book coming soon

Late Show musical director, Paul Shaffer, is to publish his memoirs in 2009. Paul Shaffer said - in a statement - “These anecdotes have been accumulating in my mind for the past three-plus decades”. The book is currently untitled. How about calling it “I did not know that”? :) More info at www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/07/11/ap3904623.html

David Letterman and Paul Shaffer feuding?

According to reports over the past couple of weeks, Dave and Paul have been feuding. Now, I doubt these rumours are true, but apparentely the feud came to a head in the second Ventriloquist Week recently. Paul was talking about an old ventriloquist that used to be on at the Ed Sullivan Theatre and - supposedly - Dave wanted to move onto another segment, but Paul kept talking about it - thus annoying Dave. These reports/rumours could be false (which I assume they are). I’m sure we won’t be seeing a trial separation between Dave and Paul any time soon.
