There’ll be a special live webcast on the cbs.com/lateshow website tonight in the US (because of the time difference if you’re in the UK tune in at 2am British Summer Time). Late Show fans in the US can tune in at 8:00 PM ET (5:00 PM PT). If you can’t stay up until 2am UK time, you can catch the recording of the webcast on the cbs.com/lateshow website tomorrow. Tim McGraw will also perform on the Late Show With David Letterman on Monday night’s show and Friday night’s show (including an interview on Friday’s show). Sir Paul McCartney returned to the Ed Sullivan Theater this week 45 years after his first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show as part of the legendary group The Beatles. The performance on The Ed Sullivan Show broke The Beatles into the big time in the US.
As well as an interview with Dave, he performed on top of the Late Show With David Letterman marquee outside the theater, which looked stunning, and caused quite a stir – it looked like there were hundreds of people gathered to watch.
In the CBS.com web exclusive performance on the marquee (which lasted over 20 minutes), he performed Coming Up, Band On The Run, Let Me Roll It, Helter Skelter and Back In The USSR with his band.
It was originally thought Paul wouldn’t be performing outside because they had trouble getting the permits, but it all worked out fine in the end.
The video of the webcast performance is available on the CBS website – click here to watch.

Paul McCartney will make an historic return to the Ed Sullivan Theater tomorrow night (Wednesday). Sir Paul first appeared on the stage at the theatre way back in 1964 with The Beatles – their breakthrough appearance to US audiences for The Ed Sullivan Show. Even though Paul has been to the theatre before, he’s never been on the Late Show With David Letterman until now.
He’ll be interviewed on the show and it was rumoured he’d be performing on the roof of the theatre but this idea has now been scrapped according to Showbiz 411′s reporters. Paul will probably perform indoors.

To promote their new album No Line On The Horizon, legendary Irish band U2 will be the musical guests on the Late Show With David Letterman every show for the week of 2nd-6th March.
This will be the first time U2 have been on the Late Show since 2001.
I think the last time the Late Show had the same band on more than once in a week was when the Smashing Pumpkins played on two shows.

The First Lady of France, Carla Bruni, stopped by the Late Show With David Letterman earlier this week. Speaking of her duty of being First Lady, she said “it’s an honour. I just want to be good enough. I worry that I’m not good enough for France but I want to try my best because I like it”. When asked about US President-elect Barack Obama, she said “France is thrilled… I think the whole world is delighted”. Carla Bruni is married to Nicolas Sarkozy – the President of the French Republic. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was also asked about current US President George W. Bush and if her husband and him got on. She said “they have to you know – there’s no choice”. She also sang on the show, which was broadcast exclusively on the CBS.com Late Show website.

The brand new and exclusive official music video for ‘The Late Show Theme’ is now available at cbs.com/lateshow. This new version of the famous theme tune is more punchy and the video looks great. Paul Shaffer described this new version as “the full-length theme song with a jazzy sax solo, then a guitar babble at the end” in the recent Late Show newsletter. They used green screen for most of it and had New York scenes on it behind them. The video was produced exclusively for the web so you won’t see it on TV.
