Dave Letterman will be making a guest appearance on Oprah’s chat show next month. This will be the first time Letterman has been on her show, and the first time they have met up on-screen since Oprah’s “comeback” to the Late Show back in December 2005 (apart from the Superbowl commercial they did together this year). Will it be another “Superbowl of love” and is the “feud” definitely over? That edition of Oprah will tape on the 10th September – not that far away from the Ed Sullivan Theatre – in Madison Square Garden. An article on the Washington Post website says “The nationally syndicated show will appear live in some markets and will be rebroadcast in others”. More info can be found at WashingtonPost.com.

We’ve had some official news through from Sparrowhawk Media, who’ll be launching their new channel Diva TV on the 1st October featuring the Late Show With David Letterman. They say they will “be showing episodes anything 2-6 weeks after tx in the US (depending on the delivery of tapes from the distributors)” and they’ll “run shows 5 days a week at 9pm”. Sparrowhawk Media also states “for the time being it will be on Sky only” but they’re “hoping for carriage on Virgin Media in the near future”. The show will air in 4:3 format. The 9pm timeslot sounds fantastic – certainly miles better than ITV2 and ITV4′s late night (early morning) airings – let’s hope they can secure Virgin Media carriage.

Streaming video of full Late Night With Conan O’Brien shows is now available at NBC.com. We reported a while back on the plans NBC had to roll this out (here and here). Conan streaming seems to be restricted to US only at the moment – no word yet on whether it will be made available for Europe at some point. Episodes are streamable on this page – just pick the one you want to watch if you live in the US. NBC call the new service “NBC Video Rewind”. The player even lets you choose chapters so you can skip to a particular segment of the show. Clips are also available. Read more at the official Conan website on NBC.com.

A couple of really funny videos I thought you might enjoy from recent installments of The Tonight Show. One being Gordon Ramsay cooking with Jay – I think it was a swearing contest most of the way through. Gordon thought Jay was a terrible cook. The second clip is Nick Thune with an hilarious chatroom dating song – wait till the end of the clip for the punchline. The Internet was a much slower place back then of course – what with pre-broadband speeds and all. Don’t forgot to check out our YouTube channel for more hilarious videos.

Another article from Jay Leno in the Sunday Times this week, in which he reviews the Dodge Charger police car.

The latest episode of The Tony Mendez Show is well worth a watch. Tony goes behind-the-scenes at the Late Show annual photo inside the Ed Sullivan Theatre. He’s controlling the camera so it’s a bit juddery to say the least. All the usual faces are in the crowd. Click here to go to the video.
