The banter between Don Rickles, Denzel Washington and Letterman was hilarious. The show aired on Diva TV earlier tonight (originally broadcast on CBS on 15/01/2008), and there’s a video clip on YouTube. Don Rickles always cracks me up - I find it funny the way he talks to Dave, but Dave never seems to mind. If you haven’t seen this show yet, it’s repeated on Diva TV this Saturday (2nd February) at 11pm (Virgin Media and Sky).

A new programming block on CNBC Europe (as currently being advertised on the channel) - to be called CNBC Life - will be starting on the 23rd February. This could prove to be really interesting for The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Late Night With Conan O’Brien show airings on the channel, as CNBC Life is rumoured to be an entertainment and sport programming block. Judging on speculation alone, this could mean the return of full episodes of Leno and Conan every night of the week (and maybe even NBC’s Today programme), along with an overhaul of the schedules. Watch this space - CNBC haven’t released any details at the moment, other than it’s a programming block starting 23/02/2008.

Barack Obama stopped by the Late Show on Thursday to present the Top Ten list. Obama - currently in the middle of his hectic Presidential campaign schedule - popped in for a surprise visit to Dave, and said if he was elected he would “put Regis on the nickel” and “pronounce the word nuclear - nuclear”. Read the show roundup at The Wahoo Gazette at CBS.com. Watch the video from YouTube below;
This is a petition to show UK audiences want to see The Colbert Report on TV over here. The Colbert Report follows The Daily Show in the US. More 4 currently air The Daily Show on their channel, so The Colbert Report would make an ideal follow-on programme, as The Daily Show is always referencing The Colbert Report in their programme and at the end of the show (although this is sometimes edited out). Please sign this petition to show there’s a fanbase for the show in the UK.
Late Show UK launched in July 2005. We're a blog based around US and UK talk shows. Diva TV drops the Late Show With David LettermanJim: If I remember rightly, Letterman has been irregularly shown in the UK on Sky, Paramount, ITV and Diva. Also if Diva are NBC and Letterman is CBS there may be a clash of interest. Perhaps Letterman wants too much money for broadcasting rights?...
Diva TV drops the Late Show With David LettermanMurph_500: Thanks for the info - back to “breaking the law” for me! Seriously though,it’ ;s ridiculous. I’ve said on Digital Spy that FX would be the perfect channel for Dave. The way they treat The Colbert Report is perfect...
Diva TV drops the Late Show With David LettermanNick: Very sad news. Letterman in the UK has had a sorry ride, I can’t see anyone else picking up on it. Thanks for the info, your site is a must read each day. Regards Nick
