The Daily Show and John Oliver

I’ve really been getting into The Daily Show over recent weeks. I’ve been trying to catch it every week on Virgin Media’s On Demand service - and have become seriously hooked. John Oliver has to be one of the funniest correspondents I’ve seen on the show - some of the stuff he comes out with is hilarious. I like the way they portray him as a stereotypical Brit. Most of his humour is very sarcastic as well. Take the recent dialogue about Iraq winning their version of the football World Cup - “Oh, symbolically. Yeah, of course. In that case, they’re well on their way to winning the symbolic World Cup, no doubt cheered on by their figurative fans, and returning to a jubilant metaphorical nation. And perhaps–perhaps you’re right, Jon. Perhaps now their hypothetical government will be inspired to pseudo-bring some quasi-order to this ‘country’”. Genius. Oh, and this recent segment.
