New CBS online content on its way

CBS’s new venture - the CBS Interactive Audience Network - has been announced. This new venture means video content will be featured on AOL, Microsoft (through MSN Video), CNET Networks, Comcast, Joost, Bebo, Brightcove, Netvibes, Sling Media (including on the SlingPlayer software), and Veoh. The CBS Interactive Audience Network content will be powered by Akamai Technologies. Video content on the media delivery system will include the Late Show With David Letterman, CSI, Survivor, the CBS Evening News, and also some classic programmes. The content will also appear on Amazon, Apple and Yahoo! - for which CBS already had existing deals with. The most promising thing about this is they say - on the CBS article - “both clips and full-length content” will ”be available in the United States and Internationally”. And they also say “all content will be available domestically with select clips and full-length sports programming distributed worldwide”. All content will be free, and will be supported by adverts. The full details of this new venture are available online at the CBS Corporation website - www.cbscorporation.com/news/prdetails.php?id=2003
