Leno return gets more viewers than Letterman

Guardian Unlimited are reporting The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’s first show back on Wednesday since the writers strike began had higher viewing figures in the US, than the Late Show With David Letterman’s first show back. They say “NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, which returned without its writing staff, averaged 7.2 million viewers on its return on Wednesday… This was well ahead of The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS, which managed 5.5 million viewers”.
