David Letterman made a surprise appearance at Martin Short and Steve Martin’s stage show on Friday night in San Antonio.

The former Late Show host came out during their A Very Stupid Conversation show on Friday to chat and to deliver a very special Top Ten list about Donald Trump, saying he had no regrets about retiring from the Late Show until Donald Trump announced he was running as a candidate in the upcoming US elections.

He said “every suit I own comes with a Top Ten list”, pulled out a piece of paper and read it aloud – Interesting Facts About Donald Trump.

This gave Dave an excuse to revisit Donald Trump’s hair as “that thing on his head” which was a nice throwback to the Late Show.

It was great to see Dave again in his old standup/monologue role. The official Late Show With David Letterman social media accounts even came out of retirement:

It was recorded by people attending the show on Friday night – see below. The first clip is shorter and misses out the sit-down chat he had with Martin and Steve after the Top Ten list but it’s slightly better quality, and the second clip is his appearance in its entirety from when he gets given a microphone saying “it’s my first night in showbusiness”.
