The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon details revealed

New details for the all-new Tonight Show have been announced this week.

The new look programme will revert back to its naming convention from Johnny Carson’s tenure using “Starring” in the show’s title – it will be known as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will premiere on 17th February 2014 on NBC following Jay Leno’s departure.

The brand new logo for the programme has also been revealed (see right).

Jimmy Fallon’s new Tonight Show will bring the show back to New York – moving away from Jay Leno’s studio in Burbank, California.

NBC are bringing Jimmy into Tonight around the same time as the Winter Olympics which should help boost initial viewing figures too.

NBC have also announced they are planning a two-hour primetime special for Sunday 5th January 2014 to raise awareness of the new Tonight Show host.

The Hollywood Reporter says “The Best of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon will look back the nearly five years that Fallon has toplined the show since Conan O’Brien’s departure”.
