The Daily Show coming to Comedy Central Extra

Comedy Central ExtraIt’s the news all Jon Stewart fans have been waiting for – The Daily Show is coming back to UK TV at last.

The Daily Show With Jon Stewart has been missing from UK TV schedules since More 4 ditched the nightly programmes in January 2011 in favour of showing only the Global Edition compilation show once a week.

From the 23rd July The Daily Show will air on Comedy Central Extra every weeknight at 10.30pm.

From Tuesday-Friday it will air on a 1-day delay from the US and the Global Edition compilation show will air on Monday nights at the same time. For example, the episode shown in the US on a Monday night would air on Comedy Central Extra on Tuesday.

Comedy Central Extra is available on Sky channel 128 and Virgin Media channel 185.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s recent interview on The Daily Show is apparantely one of the key reasons why the show is returning to UK TV. Boris asked why the show isn’t on TV in England much anymore.

We have been running a petition group on Facebook to bring back The Daily Show for some time now and famous faces such as Louis Theroux have been calling for the show to return so this really is excellent news.

The Daily Show will be back on UK TV just in time to join the US elections discussion.
