CBS have confirmed the Late Late Show will get guest hosts from January next year until James Corden takes over in March.
Craig Ferguson’s final Late Late Show will air on Friday 19th December, after which several guest hosts will look after the show after the Christmas period until the new host is ready.
EW reports “Drew Carey will host the first and final weeks of these shows spanning between Jan. 5 and Jan. 9 and March 2 and March 6. Other people stepping in include Judd Apatow, Will Arnett, Wayne Brady, Jim Gaffigan, Billy Gardell, Sean Hayes, Thomas Lennon, Kunal Nayyar, and, yes, John Mayer. That John Mayer”.
If you’re asking where the female guest hosts are, EW have been assured “CBS has plans to announce more hosts and are reaching out to women, adding that the network had already reached out to women who were unavailable”.
In a somewhat unexpected move, The A.V. Club reports CBS will be airing “original after-dark editions” of daytime talk show The Talk for the week of the 12th January in the Late Late Show slot, so guest host editions of the Late Late Show will not take place for that particular week.
