In today’s edition of British newspaper the Daily Mirror, the Late Show With David Letterman gets some UK press coverage.
The story is regarding a British couple who went to New York for their honeymoon and went to a taping of the Late Show and ended up being starring roles on the programme.
The couple – Michael and Cheryl Askell from Newcastle – were the subject of many jokes on the programme, which included Dave calling Michael a “cheapskate” for bringing his newlywed to see the Late Show (tickets are free). They were given $2,000 in vouchers. Michael said “it was great fun. It’s something we’ll never forget”.
