According to the Diva TV website, the Late Show With David Letterman will be axed from the channel from next week onwards. From Monday 9th June, the 9pm timeslot will go to The Oprah Winfrey Show.
This is a huge disappointment for UK fans of Letterman – it has only been about nine months (October 2007) since it came back to UK television and now we’ve lost it from our screens again. We thought Diva TV were doing a great job giving it a secured 9pm timeslot every weeknight and reruns on weekends. They had been giving the show a lot of advertising too which was great, and there’s even two shows on tomorrow night (Saturday) for the Sex And The City themed night of programming.
The last broadcasts of the Late Show on Diva TV will be on Saturday 14th June, Sunday 15th June, Saturday 21st June and Sunday 22nd June (all at 10pm) but there will not be any weekday 9pm airings from next week. After the 22nd June, there is no sign of the Late Show With David Letterman in the Diva TV listings from 23rd June onwards.
The listings on the Diva TV website now go all the way up to the end of July and there’s still no sign of the Late Show With David Letterman, so it must have been axed from the channel for certain.
We urge viewers to contact Diva TV regarding the Late Show to register your complaints. The contact form on their site doesn’t seem to be working, so the only email address I can see on there is firstname.lastname@example.org or try giving them a call on 020 7368 9100.
Please leave a comment on this post if you get any news from Diva TV. Thank you. We will be promoting the Late Show With David Letterman UK television petition again if the axe does turn out to be correct next week.
