President Obama to visit Leno tonight

US President Barack Obama will make TV history this week when he becomes the first President to appear on a late night talk show during their Presidency.

Barack Obama will be a guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno tonight.

British newspaper the Daily Mail reports “White House press spokesman Robert Gibbs said the show provided a ‘unique audience’ for the President to get his message across… a chance ‘to explain the economic situation we are in'”.

It is thought the President will use his time on The Tonight Show to talk about the $787 billion stimulus package and his plans to overcome the worldwide economic downturn.

This episode will air on NBC tonight.

CNBC will air the episode on Friday at 11pm, Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 8pm.
