Comic Relief’s Big Chat with Graham Norton
Graham Norton’s marathon talk show The Big Chat took place live on BBC Three this week.
The host & comedian took over the channel from 7pm to 1am on Thursday with a live talk show in aid of Comic Relief.
Over £1 million was raised throughout the show (which stayed on air 15 minutes after 1am to reach the mammoth target) – £1,022,982 to be precise.
The money will help people at home and in Africa.
Graham also successfully broke the world record for the most questions asked on a TV chat show (which required the guests to give answers of at least five words to be counted towards the record total).
There were a huge number of guests interviewed & performing on The Big Chat including Terry Wogan, Russell Tovey, Jimmy Carr, Martin Freeman, Keith Lemon, Louis Smith, Warwick Davis, James Nesbitt, Example, Paloma Faith, Hurts and Laura Mvula.
Radio 1 DJ Greg James did some outside broadcast linkups from the Top Of The Pops star bar playing games with celebrities backstage & some candid short interviews.
Greg was also outside BBC Television Centre with the “Kissing Booth” with the help of comedian Angelos Epithemiou – several celebrities including Denis Van Outen took inside a kissing booth behind Perspex & kissed members of the public on the outside.
BBC1 aired a 1-hour highlights programme last night which can be watched below whilst available, but if you’d like to watch the whole night from BBC Three click here.
