Late Late Show success beyond “wildest dreams” for Corden

James CordenJames Corden jetted in to London for a few hours yesterday to attend the BAFTA TV Awards – the BBC reports “his time on home soil (19 hours) was less than the time he spent in the sky travelling to and from Los Angeles for it (23 hours)”.

Whilst here he spoke to BBC Newsbeat about The Late Late Show on CBS saying it was “mostly mystifying” why it was such a hit and said “no-one could have predicted the show would be received in such a manner. It’s beyond all of our wildest dreams”.

He did excise caution however – “let’s not get carried away… we’ve only done 25 episodes and we’ve had a good run following David Letterman’s last few weeks hosting his show… over the summer the ratings will drop off but when Stephen Colbert takes over later in the year we should pick up again”.

BBC Newsbeat – “James Corden can’t believe the Late Late Show is still on the air”
